Madelyn “Kate” E. Hemsley, 95, of Wheeling, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 in Bishop Hodges Continuous Care Center.
She was born October 15, 1920, a daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Kelly) Kirk. Madelyn was a Christian by faith, and an avid Ohio State football fan. She loved to travel, play at the casino, bingo and dominos. Madelyn loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul H. Hemsley (2007); two sisters, Anna Mae (Edward) Marino and Shirley (Melvin) Moore; one granddaughter, Jennifer Hemsley and one great-grandson, Riley Anson Mitchell.
She is survived by her four loving children, Sherry (Larry) Mitchell of Lancaster, OH, Connie Hemsley of Wheeling, Robert (Sharon) Hemsley of Praire Grove, AK, and Thomas (Vicki) Hemsley, Sr. of Moundsville, WV; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her faithful dog, Snuggles.
The family would like to thank Dr. Albert Jellen, and the staff at Bishop Hodges Continuous Care for all of their wonderful service and devotion.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at a time to be determined.

Sorry to hear this news. She was a great lady! You kids were lucky to have great parents and what wonderful memories growing up in Fulton we all had! Those were the good ol’ days for sure! Love to all….
