Marisa Stahl Nolan, daughter of the late Lawrence Stahl and Mary Helen (Murphy) Stahl, was taken from us too soon and passed away on October 14th, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two older brothers. Risa is survived by her husband of 45 years, Edward J. Nolan III of Wheeling, as well as her children, grandchildren, and 6 of her siblings.
The world seems to be divided on just about every topic these days, but there’s no debate about Risa’s love of friends and animals. In response to her untimely death, her husband and children have established the Nolan Family Fund to advocate for animal welfare, social services, and nature conservancy in her name.
In lieu of funeral arrangements, the family wishes to celebrate Risa’s life and legacy in the way she’d most prefer: a toast with friends. Friends and family are invited to River City Ale Works from 4-8pm on Friday, October 22nd. Please join us in an Irish blessing and opportunity to toast or share remarks at 6pm. Contributions in her memory can be made at nolan-family.org

I first met Risa in Nurses training and we shared a few memories and a few toasts in the local pub down the street from Charity Hall. I too am an Irishman and we enjoyed that in common. We never hung out together much but did study together and she was always a very generous, kind and loving friend. Wish we had more time to share. She truly enjoyed the WHSN Reunion we had a few years back. I will keep her in my prayers. Always will remember her, never to forget her.
