Marleen Marie Miller, 71, of Wheeling, WV, passed away with her family by her side Friday, April 1, 2022 at home.
She was born in Wheeling, July 1, 1950, a daughter of the late Richard and Marcella (Dierkes) Platt. Marleen was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and an Avon representative for nearly 40 years. She was an avid reader and above all being a mom and a grandma was her world.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Shaun Miller.
Marleen is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Chuck Miller; five children, Chuck (Suzy) Miller, Kristy (Micah) Zinn, Kim (Brian) Phillips, Corey Miller and Kylee Miller and her fiancee Tyler Derrow; two siblings, Lois (Jim) Dillon and Don (Janet) Platt; seven grandchildren, Eli, Luke, Leah, Brian, Owen, Lucy and Ellie and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday, April 5, 2022, from 6-8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 11 am at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Fr. Dennis Schuelkens officiating. Interment will be held at Parkview Memorial Gardens.

Marleen was one of those women with a strong love of family first and foremost! As I met her on a book club site some years back, I learned what a great wordsmith she was and her e-mails often left me in stitches. She was like a sister to me.
