Marlene Evelyn Ruza, 72, of Moundsville, WV and currently Bowie, MD, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD.
She was born February 24, 1944 in Wheeling, WV, a daughter of the late, Henry and Evelyn Fryman. Marlene is Catholic by faith and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She is a graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Frank Douglas Gellner and their son, Mark Gellner; and her recently deceased husband, Dannie Ruza, Sr.
Marlene worked for U.S. Stamping, C P Telephone Company, and is retired from AT T. She enjoyed many years in her log home in the country in Limestone and loved planting flowers, watching the wildlife, and doing puzzles. Recently, her family had the great pleasure of her joining with them to make her new home and listening to her childhood stories, sharing in her favorite TV shows, and enjoying each other’s company.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise (Edward) Coss and three grandchildren, Sarah, Greta, and Samuel of Bowie, MD; a sister, Lauren (Carlton) Haywood of Columbia, MD, and a nephew, Grant of Tucson, AZ; three stepchildren, Dannie (Debbie) Ruza, Jr of Moundsville, Denise Ruza of Mt. Vernon, OH, and David (Heather) Ruza of Glen Dale; step-grandchildren Megan Coss, Dannie III and Ashley Ruza, William and Amanda Higgs, Donielle and Autumn Ruza, Hope Ruza, and Avery and Aria Ruza.
Friends will be received at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes Kirby-Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, WV, from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Thursday, April 7, 2016, where services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 10:00am with Rev. That Son Ngoc Nguyen officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.

Marlene was a very sweet kind lady. We worked with her at Datatrac/CSC. She dressed very well, especially remember Alfred Dunner styles. She will be missed. God’s Blessings to the family.
