Mary Catherine O’Brien Nau, 93, formerly of the Woodsdale area, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at St. Margaret’s Hospital-UPMC Pittsburgh, PA.
She was born October 24, 1921 in Wheeling, daughter of the late Frank and Christina Rings Heil.
Mary had worked at Wheeling Jesuit University(Wheeling College) in the library and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard O’Brien in 1965, and her second husband, Robert Nau in 2012, and a brother Frank Heil.
Surviving are 4 children; Richard O’Brien and his wife, Rose of Frisco, CO, Christine “Penny” Stenger and her husband, Thomas of Pittsburgh, PA, David O’Brien and his wife, Alice of Cherry Hill, NJ, and step daughter; Ann Nester and her husband, Frank of Ravenswood, WV, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 3-8pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 10:00am at St. Michael Catholic Church with Msgr. Jeremiah McSweeney as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
