Mary Margaret Stein, 98, of Wheeling, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
She was born March 25, 1918, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Charles and Rachel Woeber. Mary Margaret was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Michael’s Church. She was a volunteer at Wheeling Hospital and with the March of Dimes. Mary Margaret was a member of the Auxiliary of Mt. St. Joseph and Wheeling Hospital, and a member of Christian Mothers of St. Michael’s. Mary Margaret was devoted to and loved her family deeply.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, George J. Stein Jr. and her brother, Frank L. Woeber.
Mary Margaret is survived by her three children, George J. (Pam) Stein III, Thomas C. (Jane) Stein, and Paula (Michael) Stein Lawton; five grandchildren, Rachel Stein Trumbo, Charlotte Stein, Hannah Stein, Sarah Stein Roy and Matthew Lawton; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be especially remembered by her niece, Jo Ellen Stein Taylor, who was devoted to her care and well-being.
Family and friends will be received, Friday, December 16, 2016 from 4-6 pm at Good Shepherd Nursing Home Chapel, 159 Edgington Lane, Wheeling, where a Mass of Christian burial will be held, Saturday, December 17, at 10 am with Fr. John Beckley officiating. Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
