TAKACH, Michael J. “Booge”, 84 of Wheeling, W.Va., died Friday, December 11, 2015 at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born September 7, 1931 in Benwood, W.Va., a son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Filo) Takach. He was a Wheeling Central High School graduate, Class of 1949. He was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel and was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Adella (Goyak) Takach, four brothers, Joseph Takach, John Takach, Paul Takach, and Steve Takach, and one sister, Helen Sherman.
He is survived by one sister, Mary Bradcovich of Wheeling; a special niece, Kim (Tom) Jafrate of Wheeling; special great niece, Leanne Jafrate of Morgantown; and several other nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11 am at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, with Rev. Dennis R. Schuelkens Jr. officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
