Mildred Florence (Huggins) Siburt, 95, of Moundsville, W.Va., passed away at her home on Thursday, July 7, 2016, surrounded by her family.

Mildred was born in Wetzel County on February 24, 1921, the daughter of the late Andy C. and Daisy Bell (Postlewait) Huggins. She was a member of the Limestone Presbyterian Church; a former Dutchmaid Clothing demonstrator; a former employee of the State Food Stores in Moundsville and McMechen; and was active member of the Limestone Senior Citizens.

Mildred was also a former radio performer. She first performed with Big Slim and as “Sue” in the “Red and Sue Program” on WMOD Radio, before moving on to be a radio performer with WWVA Radio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Elmer Siburt; and four brothers, Edward, William, Robert and Earl Huggins.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Raymond) Franklin of Moundsville; her son, James (Margaret) Siburt of Moundsville; five grandchildren, Jacquelyn (Martin) Shunk of Powhatan Point, Ohio, James E. (Audra) Siburt of Columbia, Pa., David E. Franklin of Moundsville, Richard A. (Paula) Siburt of Cameron, W.Va. and Benjamin L. (Andrea) Siburt of Powhatan Point; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2-8 pm, Sunday, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 am, Monday, July 11, 2016, with the Rev. Larry Kline officiating. Interment will follow in Halcyon Hills Memorial Park, Sherrard, W.Va.

My sympathys sent to you-its very hard to lose a loved one. I remember listening to her on the radio-She was a cousin & my sister Waneta’s sister-in-law.She gave me the family geneology a few years ago. A great lady and nice to everyone she met. You were blessed to have her for so many years but they are never enough.
