Myles, Mildred “Millie”, 79, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Belmont Acuity Hospital.
She was born November 24, 1936, in Wheeling, the daughter of the late Thomas and Grace (Neider) Myles.
Mildred was a retired secretary from Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Warwood. She previously worked as the church secretary at St. Jude Catholic Church in Glen Dale, W.Va. She was also an art teacher for many years at Bishop Donahue High School.
She enjoyed art and crocheting, making afghans and lap blankets for nursing home residents. For many years she was a catechist, teaching children the Catholic Faith she so loved.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Bob, Tom, Ivan, Bernard, and Don Myles, and one sister, Joan Rine.
Survivors include one brother, Raymond (Lena) Myles of Illinois; two sisters, Betty (Leo) Forrest of Ohio and Ellen (Bob) Lemmon of Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and many truly good friends.
Friends will be received on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 4-8 pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 12 pm at Mount Calvary Cemetery Bishop’s Chapel with Rev. Ron Getsinger as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
