Nancy Lee West, 81, of New Cumberland, W.Va., formerly of Wheeling, W.Va., passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016, in Wheeling Hospital.
Nancy was born June 24, 1935 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late George and Mary Hickman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers; and six sisters.
Nancy is survived by her companion of 40 years, John “Jack” Bauer of New Cumberland; two children, Deborah Roxby of Windsor Heights, W.Va. and Larry (Joyce) West of Wheeling; a sister, Millie Murad of Bridgeport, Ohio; five grandchildren, Norman Wilds of Aurora, Colo, Ricky Roxby of Windsor Heights, Carrie West of Wheeling, Larry West, Jr. of Wheeling and Bryan Brown of Weirton, W.Va.; ten great-grandchildren; and Nancy’s special friend, Willy, the dog.
In accordance with Nancy’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to an animal shelter of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.altmeyerfuneralhomes.com.
