Nellie Virginia O’Hara, 92, Wheeling, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2017, in Belmont Manor, St Clairsville, OH.
Nellie was born July 14, 1925 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Herbert and Naomi (Michaels) Albus. She was a member of the Island Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard O’Hara, a step-daughter, Shirley Bigrigg, and a step-grandchild, Ronald Bigrigg.
Nellie is survived by four children, Bernard (Nancy) O’Hara Jr., Shereza O’Hara and John (Bob) Finnicum, Kimberly (David) Byard, and Holly O’Hara and Tom DeMuth; a grandchild, Brendan Byard; five step-grandchildren, Derek (Nuraniyeh) Armstrong, George Bigrigg, David Bigrigg, Rebecca Totman, and Arthur Bigrigg; several nieces and nephews; and her special caregiver, Stacey Hercules.
She was a lifetime member of the PTA, Thursday Music Club, Barbershop Chorus, Bells of the Valley, and The Island Garden Club.
Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Monday, November 27, 2017, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Wheeling Chapel, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling; where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 28th, 2017, at 11 a.m., with the Pastor Judy Bennett officiating.

Deepest sympathy offered in the loss of your sweet Mother. Nellie was a dear friend of my Mother, Edna Billisits. They were buddies for many years over on Wheeling Island. She attended many family functions with my Mother and was always such a kind lady.
