Patricia Ann Chincheck, 86, of McMechen passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Patricia was born to the late Page and Ernestine (Withrow) Gallagher on January 31, 1936 in McMechen, WV.

There were many things in life that brought Patricia joy including; shopping, fashionable clothing, holiday decorating and hosting (especially the 4th of July and Christmas), spending time with her dear friends and family and cheering on the John Marshall Monarchs. It was at Union High school that Patricia, who was a majorette, met her high school sweetheart who would later become her loving husband of sixty eight 68 years, Joseph Chincheck. Both Mr. and Mrs. Chincheck were proud Union Alumni who went on to become founding members of the Union High School Alumni Association and served the association for more than thirty five (35) years. Patricia lived a life of gratitude as she was a liver transplant beneficiary more than twenty two (22) years ago. She enjoyed speaking and volunteering with CORE to raise awareness and provide education around the importance of being an organ and tissue donor.

Left to remember and celebrate Patricia’s life is her loving husband, Joseph Chincheck, daughters, Leslie Ann (Mark) Lynch of St. Albens, WV and Susan Paige Chincheck of McMechen, WV, brother Page William Gallagher of Glen Dale, WV, sister-in-law, Delores Chincheck of McMechen, WV as well as, nieces and nephews, Bill Gallagher, Erin and Jackson Bond, and Julie Chincheck.

The family of Mrs. Chincheck would like to thank the staff at Amedisys Hospice, the staff of WVU Home Health with a special thanks to Anne Marie Hitchcock and Chyenne Mayle, and Dr. William Przybysz for the wonderful care they provided as well as, the wonderful neighbors and friends who have helped in so many ways.

The family and friends of Patricia Chincheck will gather on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at 6:00pm – 8:00pm and Monday, June 6, 2022 at 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am held at Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 Marshall Street McMechen, WV. Fr. Doney Chacko has been invited to celebrate the life of Patricia as the family is very grateful for his ministry, support, and many visits. Interment at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Wheeling, WV will immediately follow the funeral service.

I’m sorry to read about your family’s loss. I always enjoyed talking and waiting on your mother as you all shopped at Christopher & Banks and joking with your dad . I felt I had made 3 friends from all the years we got to know each other. I pray for all of you and that she may Rest In Peace.

Joe and family, you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Dad has prayed for you and Charlie Okle daily for a long time…he would love to talk to you, and is trying to bring himself to calling – he is just afraid that all he would do is cry. He speaks of his good friend ‘Chinny’ every day. So very sorry for your loss Joe. The family of Don Crow (‘Crow’). God Bless you all.

Dear Susan, Chinny, Leslie & family, you all loved Patty & no one could have taken better care of her. She’s in God’s arms & at peace. She kept her faith throughout her trials & now all her good qualities will be passed down to her heirs. She’s at peace. Be at peace yourselves. You’re loved by God & many others.
