Patricia Ann “Trish” Kurelac, 57, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at Liza’s Place, after a strong battle with Ovarian Cancer.

She was born December 6, 1963, in Wheeling, WV, a daughter to Patricia (Kutek) Kurelac and the late Peter P. Kurelac JR. Trish was a long time member of St. James & St. John Catholic Churches. She majored in chemistry and biology along with her Juris Doctorate degree in law from WVU. Over the years, she served many roles in the community, including having her own law practice established in 1995, serving as municiple judge in Benwood, long time attorney for the Town of Triadelphia and the Marshall County Mental Hygiene Commissioner for over 20 years.

Trish truly loved everything that was West Virginia, especially Mountaineer games with her family. She enjoyed golfing, playing piano and spending time with family any chance she could. Trish will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three siblings, Karen Kurelac of Glen Dale, Paula (Jay) Zimla of Glen Dale and Pete (Jessica) Kurelac III of Wheeling; two nieces, Samantha and Sydney Zimla, one nephew, Peter Joseph and several cousins.

Family and friends will be received Friday, September 3, 2021 at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, with a Rosary service at 7 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, September 4 at 10 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 912 7th Street, Moundsville, with Fr. That Son Ngoc Nguyen officiating. Interment will be held at McMechen Cemetery.
