Richard “Red” W. Fleming, 82, of Vero Beach, FL, formally of Moundsville, WV, passed away June 23, 2015 at the VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach, FL.
He was born July 23, 1932 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Wilber and Margarite (Miller) Fleming.
Red attended Triadelphia High School, was a Christian by faith, served as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, was a retired coal miner for Consolidated Coal, member of the Moundsville Moose Lodge and an avid golfer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Elsie Sutton, Sara Brandon and Frances Ostrander and a brother, David Fleming.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nora M. (Matiasek) Fleming of Vero Beach, Fl; two children, Joyce (Carl) Wunderlich of Mount Clare, WV and Richard David Fleming of Moundsville; four sisters, Ore Mae Alig, Florence Price, June Davis and Ruth (Jim) Kerns; three grandchildren, Tiffany (Ahmed) Osman of Fulton, MD, Michael Wunderlich of Morgantown, WV and Melissa (Sam) Mikes of Wheeling; two great grandchildren, Blossom Mikes and Noah Osman and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 4-8 pm, Monday June 29, 2015 at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 30 at 10am with Rev Doug Ondeck officiating.
Interment and military services will follow in Mt Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice House at 901 37th Street, Vero Beach, FL. 32960.

Uncle Richard will be greatly missed. Always remember his smile. Always had to make him a cake on sunday after his golf game at wheeling park. He would visit with mom and eat cake. Always remember the good times. He is missed. God bless
