Richard W. Beaver, Jr., 78, of Moundsville, WV, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 16, 2022.
He was born December 3, 1943 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Richard W. and Delores J. (Davis) Beaver Sr.
Richard was a retired employee with 42 years of service with Consol Energy, Ireland River Docks, Moundsville; a Methodist by faith; and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of the American Legion, Earl Francis Post 3; the Eagles Aerie 499; and the VFW Post 437, all of Moundsville.
Richard was an avid NASCAR fan starting in the 1960’s. He loved cars and riding his motorcycles with friends. He was a quiet man to most but had a great sense of humor. He had many lifelong friends he loved as family. He loved camping with his grandkids and spending time with his dogs. Richard enjoyed traveling and spending endless hours on the beach. Yes, Richard loved Disney as much as Darla. Richard enjoyed life and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Darla Jean (Morris) Beaver, his high school sweetheart whom he married on July 23, 1966 and enjoyed over 51 years with before her passing. He is survived by his beloved daughter and son-in-law, Rikke and Theodore Fritz of Malvern, OH; two dearly loved grandchildren who were the light of his life, Carl and Jeannie Fritz of Malvern; and two beloved siblings; a brother, Charles R. Beaver, and his wife Sue, of Moundsville; and a sister, Sandra V. Minor of Tampa, FL and his faithful companion Laddie.
Friends will be received at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 11 am until time of service at 1 pm, with Pastor Mike Eskridge officiating. To my beloved brother dicky,
I feel special to him because I was the one who was allowed to call him dicky, haha. I will miss you very much, but I know you are with Darla and you two have always belonged together. I will love you forever XOXOXOXO

Rikke,

Saddened and sorry to open up today’s paper and see your father’s name amongst the obits. Along with your mother, Rich was always one of the older people I always enjoyed seeing and talking to when I was out and about over the years..
I’m sure he’ll be missed and remembered by many. My thoughts and sympathy go out to you and the rest of your dad’s family and many friends
