Rita Ellen Thomas-Strawn, 88, of Wheeling passed away suddenly August 1, 2022 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
Born August 7, 1933 in Benwood, WV to the late James and Emma (Shafer) Dellget. Rita was an active member of Our Lady Of Lebanon Church where she was on the church council and participated in the Women’s Club.
In addition to her parents, Rita is preceded in death by her first husband John Thomas; her sister Mary Lee (Ed) Berardi; her brothers, Donald (Betty Lou Kerns), Jim (Marsha), and Ed Dellget.
Rita is survived and greatly miss by, her husband Harold “Rex” Strawn; four children Mary (Jerald) Green, Jay Thomas, Mark (Cindy) Thomas, and Rena (Douglas) Bratton; Sister-in-law Georginia Dellget and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received Thursday, August 4, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 with a 7:30 vigil service with Fr. Bakos Chidiac as celebrant at Altmeyer Funeral Homes Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV 26003 . Funeral Mass will take place Friday, August 5, 2022 at 10am at Our Lady Of Lebanon Church. Inurnment will be held at the convince of the family.
