So sorry to hear about Mike. I graduated from JM with him and worked on the JM yearbook staff when he was Editor. Just saw him at our 50th Reunion. He was always a joy to talk to and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this sad time.
Dear Chris, Mark, and John,
I was shocked and saddened – but appreciative – when I received a call from Chris to let me know that Mike had passed. I still can’t believe it! I have known Mike for some 35 years or so, first meeting him at a Friends of Wheeling meeting. We did so much together during the years for historic preservation.
Mike was not just a Chairman of the Library Board. I often saw him at the library, with his sleeves rolled up, doing whatever needed done, whether it was a visible project, something behind the scenes, or some physical endeavor.
I think Mike’s most enduring characteristic was that MIKE WOULD SIMPLY DO ANYTHING FOR ANYONE WHO NEEDED HELP! He was always there whether one was a long term friend or they first met.
May his name always be for a blessing.
Mike wrote a wonderful letter to my family when my mother died. His act of kindness was greatly appreciated. He delivered the newspaper to our house for many years. I hope he had a wonderful life. He is in a lot of cherished childhood memories.
Eternal rest grant unto Mike oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace….so long ole friend.
So sorry to hear of Mike’s passing. Remember growing up with him, Mark and John on 1st Street in Moundsville. He was an interesting guy.
Sorry to hear about Mike. I always enjoyed talking with him about the Moundsville history.
May God bless Mike and his family with Peace and comfort during this difficult time. Always sad to lose another class mate.
Mark,
Sorry about Mike. Even knowing he was in bad health, I was shocked to see his obit online today. Always sad when another from my age group passes on. My thoughts and sympathy go out to you, your brothers, and all of Mike’s family and many friends.
Sincere condolences to your family. Mike was an intelligent interesting good hearted man. He will be missed. Prayers for your peace and comfort. Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal. God be with you, Patty Wylie
Mike was a wonderful and caring person. He always welcomed us into his beautiful home. We are so glad that we spent several days with him last September. Our visits will always be cherished memories.
