Robert “Dale” Sigler

Robert “Dale” Sigler, 96, of Moundsville, WV passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Stonerise Nursing Facility.

Dale was born to the late Francis and Ruth (DeBolt) Sigler in Carrollton, OH.

Having served more than twenty (20) years combined in the US Navy and US Marines, Dale was a very proud American and Veteran. Dale enjoyed the comraderie and friendship he found while being a member of the VFW, American Legion and Marine Corp League of Wheeling, WV. In addition to his successful military career, Dale worked at Marx Toy as an artist as well as Electrolux as the Office Manager. He was a very talented artist, woodworker and carver having made exceptional wooden furniture pieces. It was at Marx Toys that Dale met a coworker who would become his loving and devoted wife of fifty three (53) years, Shirley (Snedeker) Sigler. After eloping to Williamsburg, VA, the couple made their way back to Moundsville where they built a life together cherishing every moment. Dale was a Methodist by faith and a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church on Robert’s Ridge in Moundsville, WV.

In addition to his parents, Dale is preceded in death by his siblings; Francis “Junior” Sigler, Florence “Sis” Doersch, Jim Sigler, Mary Ebbert, and Beryl Glass.

Left to cherish Dale’s memory is his adoring wife, Shirley Sigler, his faithful fur-baby, Molly and several beloved nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral will be held at the Ebenezer United Methodist Cemetery on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11am with care entrusted to Altmeyer Funeral Home of Moundsville, WV
