Robert G. “Bob” Rodocker, 87, of Wheeling, died Friday, December 11, 2015 at Liza’s Place, Wheeling.
He was born December 20, 1927 in Wheeling, son of the late Herbert and Mary Slokan Rodocker.
Bob was retired from the City of Wheeling Police Department, after 30 years of service, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the Elks, Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #1, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and was an Army veteran of WWII. After retirement, Bob was a school bus driver for Ohio County Schools and was a great supporter of the Soup Kitchen of Greater Wheeling.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Tominack Rodocker in 2009, and a granddaughter, Tara Rodocker.
Surviving are 3 sons; Stephen Rodocker of Wheeling, Scott Rodocker and his wife, Becky of Wheeling, Chris Rodocker and his wife Roberta, of Pittsburgh, PA, 5 grandchildren; Stephen C. Rodocker and his wife, Jessie, Caitlin M. Rodocker and her husband, Grant Dorman, Shilling A. Rodocker and his wife, Katy Kleinendorst, Sarah F. Rodocker and Lewis R. Rodocker, and 5 great grandchildren; Josie, Cody, Aidan, Nadia and Avery.
Friends will be received on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St, Elm Grove, where the Elks Club will hold a service at 4:00pm and where a vigil rosary service will be held at 6:00pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Mt. Olivet, WV at 11:00am with Rev. Dennis Schuelkens as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens with full military honors with the Moundsville Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Soup Kitchen of Greater Wheeling, c/o tmcfunding.com.

Uncle Bob’s joke of calling the Tominack in-laws ” the outlaws” is still funny. He was the greatest one of all. God bless, Uncle Bob, and Godspeed.
