GALBRAITH, Sr.,  Robert J. 85 of Wheeling, WV died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015 in Wheeling Hospital. He was born Aug. 1, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of the late Albert and Lauretta (Brassel) Galbraith.

He was a retired employee for Provident Life and Accident Company, a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Chruch and a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association and the Oglebay Institute.  Mr. Galbraith’s passion was to make jewelry and he had many other hobbies

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Phillip; a great granddaughter Kyley; one brother and four sisters.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 62 years, Lois A. Galbraith; 4 children, Robert J. Galbraith, Jr. of San Francisco, CA, Richard Galbraith (Rhonda) of St. Mary’s, WV, Eileen McCallum (Tim) of Houston, TX and Paul Galbraith (Mae Bellanca) of New Concord, OH; seven grandchildren, Courtney, Erika, Kelsie, Brian, Trevor, Andrea and Jessica; three great-grandchildren, Anna, Cael and Brayden.

Friends will be received from 4:00-8:00 pm Friday, Oct. 2, 2015 at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling, WV.  Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 a m  Saturday, Oct. 3, at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Triadelphia, WV with Rev. Gary Naegele officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling at the convenience of the family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Dr. Greg Suero, Dr. John Wurtzbacher and all the nurses on 3rd floor and Cath Lab at Wheeling Hospital.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.altmeyerfuneralhomes.com

Your dad was my scout master and I’ll always remember him. So sorry for your loss. I met him a few years ago when my dad was in the hospital the same time your dad was. He made boy scouts a lot of fun at meetings, camping, etc.
