Rodney W. Eikey, 81, of Wheeling, joined his beloved bride in Heaven on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Wheeling Hospital.

Rodney also coached many different youth athletic teams for the Island Baseball Association, St. Ladislaus Parish, and Blessed Trinity Parish.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Veronica E. (Raszkiewicz) Eikey (2011); one son, Brian Eikey (1989); one great-granddaughter, Maria Haas, and one sister, Gerri Walters.

Our regrets that we were out of town and could not pay our respects. You have his memories and from all the comments we have read, you share and will continue his passions
To the Eikey family of one of the nicest, most personable, guys we’ve ever known. Though Mr. Eikey will be deeply missed, he has left behind many wonderful memories for everyone who knew him. We are so thankful to have known him. Know now that he has begun his eternal life with his wife in heaven. John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Your father was a fine example of what God intended when he created parents, empathy, sincerity, kindness and nurturing. God Bless you all during this time of great loss and sadness.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family at this time. May your precious memories of your loved one bring you comfort and strength.
