Ronald Gene Warble, Sr., 76, of Sherrard, W.Va., formerly of McMechen, W.Va., passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, with his loving wife, Patti, and daughter, Dawn, by his side.
Ron was born January 21, 1941, in Benwood, W.Va., a son of the late Mike and Angelina “Nellie” (Marko) Warble. He was retired from Consolidated Coal Co., Shoemaker Mine, Benwood, and was a member of St. James Catholic Church, McMechen. He was a 1959 graduate of Union High School, where he played football and was picked to play in the WV vs. OH All-Star Football Game.
Ron loved anything outdoors, from fishing to picking starters for his new plants. He loved watching football. He was a young soul and had many special memories with his kids and their friends. He loved his family and friends unconditionally, always helping whoever needed it. Ron’s wife, kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. He will be sadly missed forever by everyone’s heart that he touched.
In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his sister, Dolores Warble Straughn; a brother, Mickey Warble; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Iggie and Mary Hodulik. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patti (Hodulik) Warble; his two children, Ron (Amy) Warble, II of Benwood, and Dawn Warble Donofe of Sherrard, Chris Donofe of Weirton; a brother, Eddie (Diane) Warble of McMechen; a brother-in-law, Iggie (Alison) Hodulik of Mentor, Ohio; an uncle, Bob Comer of McMechen; eight grandchildren, Allison (Richie) Warble Hathaway, Amber (Zane) Warble, Levi (Bre) Donofe, Paige Donofe, and Tyler, Walker, Ava and Ronald “Garrett” Warble; three great-grandchildren, Riley, Easton and Harper Hathaway; a step-grandson, Brian (Sheila) Macalister; two step-great-grandchildren, Bristol and Abram Macalister; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. In accordance with Ron’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 10 am St. James Catholic Church, McMechen, with the Rev. Arul Anthony as celebrant.
