Ronald E. “Ronnie” Allen, Sr, 81, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, WV.
Ronald was born June 10, 1935 in Marshall County, WV, son of the late Thomas M. and Eula (Harris) Allen.
He was retired from Crown, Cork and Seal of Weirton, WV where he was a Lithographer, member of Moundsville V.F.W and American Legion and a life time member of the Moundsville Eagles and a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was also an avid bowler and motorcyclist on his free time.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his step mother, Delta (Magers) Allen and his daughter, Rebecca (Allen) Chambers.
Ronald is survived by his wife of 37 years, Verla (Conner) Allen of Moundsville; two children, Thomas E. Allen of Windridge, PA and Ronald E. Allen Jr. of Glen Easton, WV; four step-children, Victoria (Mark) Campbell of Glen Easton, Sadonna Blake of Moundsville, Charla McConnell of AL and Donald (Brenda) Long of TX and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends will be received Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville from 2-4pm and 6-8pm where funeral services will be held Friday, September 30, 2016 at 11am.
Interment will follow at the Fork Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.altmeyerfuneralhomes.com
