Ronald Robert Shook, 78, of Moundsville, WV, passed away, Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at his residence in Washington Lands.
He was born January 11, 1938 Moundsville, son of Robert and Gayel (Allen) Shook.
Ronald was a retired coal miner for Consolidated Coal, McElroy mine, former employee of Garvin’s Dairy, and a member of Wolf Run Presbyterian Church. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved to hunt and fish.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his Wife, Linda Joy (Casto) Shook in 1999 and sister, Katherine shook.
He is survived by his son, Rick (Cheryl) Shook of Graysville, OH; two sisters, Geraldine (Norman) Stenbeck of CA and Rexine (Roy) West of Cameron, WV; two brothers, Wayne (Judy) Shook of Cameron and Kenneth Shook and his friend Diane Hicks of Moundsville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Bonnie Carpenter of Moundsville; brother-in-law, Johnnie (Connie) Casto of Elkins, WV and several nieces and nephews and other family members.
Friends will be received Friday, October 28, 2016, from 3-5pm and 6-8pm and again on Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 11am until the time of service at noon at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue Moundsville.
Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.

Dear Rick, Cheryl, Bonnie, Johnnie, and the Shook Family,
I’m so sorry to hear of Ronnie’s death. I remember how he loved to hunt and fish…Christa and I were just talking the other day how he knew Cheat Mountain like the back of his hand! Cherish your memories from better times and that will help you get through the difficult days ahead of you. Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time. Stop and see me when you’re down this way.
