Ronald Samuel Strothers, Sr., 81, of Wheeling, died Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at his home.
He was born July 27, 1936 in Washington, PA, a son of the late Waverly and Evon Strothers.
Ron was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and held various jobs, including Hanlin Industries as a boiler operator, security with McKeen Security and was a bartender at various venues.
Ron is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gwendolyn Campbell Strothers, three children; Ronald S. Strothers, Jr. and his wife Janice, Laun “Pudge” Strothers, and Sherri Strothers-McAllister, all of Wheeling, four sisters; Annette (Louis I) Napper, and Lois Ball, both of MD, Selena Brewer and Gail (Jacques) Cochran both of Washington, PA, a brother; Eric Brewer of Denver, CO, five grandchildren; Bethany, Aubrielle, Somer, Derrick and Yvonne along with 12 great grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, where online condolences may be extended to the family at www.altmeyerfuneralhomes.com.

I am so sorry for your loss. He raised amazing children, there is no greater testament.
