Sandra “Sandy” Gay (Young) Schuetz, 83, of Wheeling, passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Liza’s Place, Wheeling.  She was born in Wheeling on August 29, 1939 to the late George and Mary Jane (Sharp) Young.  Sandy was a homemaker and a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Warwood.  Sandy hosted many holiday dinners and enjoyed Spaghetti Sundays with her family.
All her family would agree that her life was her family and that the love between their mom and dad was a true inspiration to them all.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a half brother, George T. Young.

Surviving are her husband of 62 1/2 years, John “Jack” Schuetz of Wheeling; children, Michael (Shaye) Schuetz of Estero FL, Mark (Annette) Schuetz of LaBelle FL, Laurie (Ray) Thompson of Kingwood, WV, Lisa (Brian) Sorge of Warwood, WV, Lynn (Luke) Siscarcick of Zanesville, OH and Jennifer (David) Lloyd of Bethlehem, WV; 12 grandchildren, Sarah (Freddy) Maurath, Adam Ryder, Rachel Schuetz, Jordan (Kelsey) Sorge, Nick (Trena) Schuetz, T.J (Paige) Thompson., Cody (Virginia) Thompson, Cassie (Neal) Ford, John Michael (Cayla) Schuetz, Julee Schuetz, Cameron Lloyd and Corrine Lloyd and five great grandchildren, Daxxton Taylor, Jace Sorge, Jayden Thompson, Tristan Thompson and Penelope Ford.

Friends will be received on Friday, February 24, 2023 for a memorial gathering, from 9am until time of services at noon at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling with grandson John Michael Schuetz and his wife Cayla officiating.  Interment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice at 10686 OH-150, Rayland, OH 43943.

Dear Jenn & entire Schuetz family, I am so sorry to hear of your mom, grandmother, mother-in-law, wife, and friend. I remember your mom as a sweet neighbor who knew all us kids. She always let us swim in that pool which I still recall fondly. I hope time helps ease the pain for her loss but remember, she is always with you and you will see her again. To the Schuetz Family I am deeply saddened by the lost of Mrs. Schuetz, She was a beautiful lady and when in Wheeling I was always invited to stay at there house and when in Wheeling that was always my first stop.Deepest condolences to Coach and family, I only know him as coach, I considered them as my family.May she RIP.
