Semon Prado, 94, of Moundsville, WV, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at his residence.
He was born on October 8, 1927 in Ford City, PA, son of the late Calixto and Gregoria (Hurtado) Prado.
Semon was a pipe fitter for the former Triangle Conduit, member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, social member of the VFW Post 437, member of the American Legion Post 1 and a WWII Army Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Prado and sisters, Maggie Prado Skvarka and Virginia Springfield.
Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Phyllis Lee (Norris) Prado of Moundsville; sons, Danny Prado of Moundsville and Ricardo (Jo Ann) Prado of Martinsburg, WV; siblings, Rita Angalich of Glen Dale, WV, Deane Maxwell of Moundsville, Mary (Rich) Gaudi of Washington, PA, and Chet (Vikki) Prado of Hixson, TN; two grandchildren, Tirra (Ronnie) Keiter of Delre, WV and Dax (Shannon) Prado of Charlestown, WV; and two great-grandchildren, Celeste and Trent Keiter.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 4pm to 6pm with a rosary service at 6pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes and Kirby Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, WV 26041. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church at 10am with Rev. That Son serving as celebrant. The family would appreciate that masks would be worn during viewing hours.
Interment will follow at Parkview Memorial Gardens in Wheeling.
