Susanna Wilson, 83, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Wheeling Hospital.
She was born January 24, 1934, a daughter of the late Paul and Susan (Wargo) Gemerchak. Susanna was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, where she took part in God’s Children of Love Prayer Group and sang with the choir. She was very active in the community, she volunteered with Reynolds Memorial Hospital until 2002, a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 3, VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 437, Slovak Catholic Association, Mound Senior Citizens, and Marshall County Community Education Outreach Service.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack R. Wilson; one daughter, Susanne Menear and one sister, Evelyn Smith.
Susanna is survived by her four children, Jack (Jane) Wilson Jr., of Milton, WV, Paul Wilson of Moundsville, WV, David Wilson of Liverpool, NY, and Maria (Steve) Brown of Cincinnati, OH; four grandchildren, Adam, Jakob, and Grace Brown and Brittney Menear; two sisters, Rita Hansen of Elizabeth, PA and Anna (Douglas) O’Har of Pleasant Hills, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 4-8 pm, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, April 24, at 11 am at St. Francis Xavier Church with Fr. Antony Raju officiating. Interment will be held at Park View Memorial Gardens.
