Suzanne Elizabeth “Susie” Saseen, 74, of Wheeling, WV, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at her home.
Susie was born March 26, 1941 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Elmer and Virginia Nau Blust.
She was a life long member of St. Michael Parish. For many years she managed her husband’s dental practice. In her early career she was an RN at WVU Medical Center and Wheeling Hospital. Susie was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Susie is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Dr. Joseph Saseen, 4 daughters and their husbands; Tina and Bob Dowdy of Virginia Beach, VA, Mary and Sean Smith of Lutherville, MD, Jody and Joel Phillips of Virginia Beach, VA, Katie and Steven Gohn of Savannah, GA, a sister; Mary Jane (Blust) Thomas and her husband Jeff of Nashville, TN, a brother; John Blust and his wife Connie of Twinsburg, OH, 9 grandchildren; Chris and Matt Dowdy, Will, Max,and Lizzie Gohn, Hannah and Joshua Phillips, Eva and Finn Smith and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
The Family would like to send a special thanks to Lesa Fisher, Dr. James Comerci, Monsignor McSweeney, Jennifer Lloyd and the Over the Rainbow Caregivers as well as Amedisys Hospice Services. Many special thanks to her dear friends and loyal companions, Kathy Burgoyne, Peggy Keys, Kathy Antonucci, Maureen McNabb and Judy Harrison as well as countless other great friends who have provided love and support overt her lifetime.
Friends will be received on Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, where a vigil service will be conducted at 7:00pm
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 19, 2015 at St. Michael Catholic Church at 11 am with Msgr. Jeremiah McSweeney as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Parish School, 1221 National Road, Wheeling, WV 26003.

We are living in Cinncinati, Ohio now and just learned of Susie’s passing. Our hearts go out to all of you at this time. Susie was always the smiling presence at the dental office who greeted all who entered. She will be missed. Our prayers are sent to you.

So very sorry for your loss. I remember Susie as a sweet & gentle lady; also a very good RN who gave our first 2 baby daughters their immunizations in the early to mid sixties; then our daughters even got to play with one another on Locust & Linden.
