Thelma Gilmore Myers Neff, 100, of Moundsville, WV passed away on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Mound View Health Care.

She was born on October 25, 1914, in Moundsville, a daughter to the late Harry and Winnie (Wood) Gilmore.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert H. Myers and her second husband, Okey Neff;  two brothers, Cecil and Harold Gilmore; and a sister, Genevieve (Albert) Johnson.

She is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Myers) Garcia and her husband Bert of Summerfield, FL and Brenda (Myers) Fecat and her husband Walt of Glen Dale, WV; three grandchildren, Alexa (John) Bushovisky, Zachary (Elise) Fecat and Gabriel Fecat, all of Glen Dale; two great grandchildren, Aiden and Ayla Bushovisky and several nieces.

Thelma was a life-long member of Calvary United Methodist Church.  She was a 1934 graduate of Moundsville High School, former Medical Clerk for Dr. Anderson, worked in the payroll department of Triangle Conduit and Cable Company, and was Past President of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, a life member and past Chaplin of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Auditor of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, past Regent of Women of the Moose, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader and Troop Consultant, and a Volunteer for Meals on Wheels, all in Moundsville.

Friends will be received Sunday, August 2, 2015 from 6-8pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, where a VFW Ladies Auxillary service will be held at 7 pm.and funeral services Monday, August 3, 2015 at 11am with Rev. Gregory L. Blair officiating.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Mound View Health Care for the wonderful care they gave Thelma.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, 1601 First Street, Moundsville, WV 26041.

Sorry about Mrs. Neff. My thoughts and sympathy go out to all of her family and friends. She obviously touched a lot of lives while on this earth and made this small part of it a better place….. Since she made to a hundred and there’s a HEAVEN, I’m sure there are many on the other side who have thanked her personally already.
