McKenzie, Thomas Lee Sr., 87, of Wheeling, died Friday May 26, 2017 at home.
He was born February 12, 1930, in Wheeling, the son of the late Lesley and Anna Mae Burkle McKenzie.
Tom was retired from both Wheeling Machine Products and Wheeling Park Commission in the maintenance department, a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Evelyn Metzger McKenzie; four sons, Thomas McKenzie Jr. and his wife Janet, Robert McKenzie, Ronald McKenzie and his wife Debbie and Donald McKenzie all of Wheeling; a brother, Reynor Burkle, of Wheeling, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday May 31, 2017 at 11:30 am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Wheeling with Rev. Bekeh Utietiang as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling. Graveside military will be conducted by the Moundsville Honor Guard.

I just learned of Mac passing away. I met Mac while I worked at the Veterans Clinic in St.Clairsville . He was a sweetheart and always made me smile. He was always my favorite patient and he will be truly missed. My condolences to his wife Eve and family.

Mac was a great guy I have known him for a long. He always enjoyed the park and especially the lake. He will be missed by everyone.
