Wanda “Maxine” Witzgall, 95, of Moundsville, WV, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Shadyside Nursing Home, Shadyside, OH.
She was born in Wheeling, WV on April 25, 1928, a daughter of the late Guy and Clio (Polen) Fletcher. Maxine was a member of Marshall County Farm Bureau and the Fairview Homemakers. She was a homemaker and worked as a clerk for Behm’s Auctioneering for many years.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband Herbert Witzgall, her sister, Wilda Harmar, two brothers, Carl and Bryon Fletcher and a granddaughter Heather Witzgall Henderson.
Maxine is survived by her two sons, Tom (Jenny) Witzgall of Lakeland, FL and Kim Witzgall of Moundsville; one daughter Pam (Rusty) Leonard of Valley Grove, WV; three grandchildren, Jaclyn Church of Lakeland, FL, Jody Leonard of Annapolis, MD and Jason Leonard of Moundsville; seven great-grandchildren Kaylon Henderson, Autumn Henderson, Isabella Church, Zachery Church, Austin Bocchichio, Macy Bocchichio and Jason Leonard Jr. and several nieces and nephews
Family and friends will be received Friday, August 25, 2023 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Homes, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., where services will be held on Saturday, August 26 at 11 am. Interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery.
